Women Academic Library Leadership in Pakistan: A Qualitative Study on the Journey of Career Progression and Serving the Community

Women library professionals are greatly underrepresented in key leadership positions, especially the developing countries. This study explored women academic Pakistan and investigated major challenges faced by leaders during their ascending to top, indicator of success, as well community services professional contributions made them course careers. Qualitative research design was used data were collected conducting in-depth interviews 16 senior woman Pakistan. The findings indicated that organizational challenges, family responsibilities, gender discrimination barriers hindered career progression. indicators success effective use technology, commitment, contributions, services, support, international exposure, continuous learning. implications highlight various areas improvement for leadership.
